I’ve been on both sides of the interview table for 8 years. Here are 7 mistakes that reject B2-level Russian-speaking candidates.
1. “I am working in shipping company…”
Present Continuous instead of Present Simple.
2. “I have a experience…”
Uncountable. “I have experience” — no article.
3. Make vs do
“I will do my best” — correct.
4. “I can to do”
After modals — bare infinitive, no “to”.
5. “Critical situation” with no structure
Use STAR: Situation, Task, Action, Result.
6. “Maybe” in every answer
Replace with “I will”, “I would”, “I am confident”.
7. Silence longer than 3 seconds
Don’t know? Use a filler: “That’s a good question, let me think”.
